DAVID MAX BUTLER, 74, beloved husband of Susan Kay Butler and son of Harold and Betty Butler of Irvington. He was born February 21, 1942, and passed away peacefully at home on February 1 after a long illness. The Good Lord took him home to be with Jesus at just the perfect time, where he will now have an eternity of joy and peace in the arms of his loving Savior.
He will be greatly missed by all especially for his sense of humor and storytelling in earlier days. He is survived by his wife, Susan and four children by marriage: Roxanne, and husband Cortland; Jacqueline, and husband Tim; Peter; Tania, and husband Shon. Also, nine grandchildren: Lucas, and wife Katelyn; Hannah, and husband Esteban and great grandson Samuel; Levi, and wife Courtney; Clare, Katrina, Ruby, Colleen, T.C. and Beck. Also, one niece Andrea Barfield, her husband John, and two children Lucas and Logan living in Florida.
David served in the army during the Vietnam era and was a D.J. encouraging and entertaining the troops over in Wurzberg, Germany. After an early discharge to be with his dying father as the only son, he went into the printing trade and served at many printing companies in the Indianapolis area until retirement in 2004 when he and Susan were married. He loved his church and served as an usher. Also, he was involved helping Life Centers and walked many of the fundraising events with his wife and special ‘golden’ Shiloh, affectionately called “Jr”.
There will be a Celebration of Life Memorial service at The Chapel, College Park Church, 2606 W 96th Street (96th and Towne Road) Indianapolis, IN 46268 on Tuesday, February 21st. Gathering of friends and family is at the church from 5-6 p.m. with special service @ 6 p.m., followed by a light reception.

Beautiful words, mom. You served Dave well these past few years and he had the best living situation under his circumstances. He got to be home his last few years and now he’s ultimately Home.
